Wavin. The name, of course, comes with a bit of national pride. The founder of plastic piping systems. Established in the 1950s in response to leaking and rusting water pipes in the east of the country. It’s now a global player with a broad portfolio of products and services. And since November 2020, with WTC Schiphol as its operating base.
Frans-Jan van Rongen is proud of the new office concept that Wavin has realised in the WTC. “Under the motto: Home away from home, the office has become a real home base for the people working here and the many visitors. Frans-Jan: “The whole look and feel is right. We have done everything to make our people feel that this office really is their home. The colours, the materials, the visuals, the interior, the IT… Everything is right. Coming home to work. We had the full cooperation of the WTC team to make this possible.”
Cosmopolitan appearance
For Wavin, moving to WTC Schiphol was a logical step towards a different organizational form. Frans-Jan: “Until recently, Wavin consisted of regional offices. The office in Zwolle, for example, was the head office for Europe. In November, we started rolling out our global strategy with a global head office. We have chosen to establish ourselves at WTC Schiphol. Accessibility is of course important to us. From the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Schiphol is an important international hub. Another important factor for us is that Wavin’s parent company, Orbia, can now also use our office.”
Showcase
Of course, it’s not just about accessibility: “Sustainability is an important issue for Wavin. That, too, guided us in our choice. As far as sustainability is concerned, WTC Schiphol performs excellently and sets the bar high. The dynamism and cosmopolitan character of Schiphol are also important to us. All in all, we have created an office with the perfect look and feel in the perfect surroundings. And you know what’s nice? Potential tenants are often taken around our premises to show them that you can realise a fantastic office concept at WTC Schiphol.”
