Thirty years ago, in 1996, the first phase of WTC Schiphol Airport opened its doors. To celebrate three decades of growth, connection and community, we’re launching Faces of WTC: Stories that Inspire.
In Faces of WTC: Stories that Inspire, we bring the soul of WTC Schiphol Airport to life through the people who shape it every day. For this special series, we interviewed nine inspiring professionals, ranging from tenants and team members to management and service staff, each uniquely connected to the World Trade Center. Their stories go far beyond their roles or job titles: they speak about personal milestones and experiences, unexpected turns, ambitions, challenges, and the moments that shaped who they are today.
The interviews and portraits reveal just how diverse, resilient, and human our community is. They show what WTC Schiphol Airport means in their working lives, how the building is a place where personal memories are made, where opportunities grow, and where careers and life paths intersect. This series highlights not only their professional relationship with the WTC, but also the intimate, sometimes moving or surprising anecdotes that colour their everyday reality.
In the coming period, we will share these stories across multiple platforms within our community. On our website, you’ll find the portraits accompanied by photography that puts their personality front and center. Through LinkedIn, we’ll dive deeper into their professional motivations, while on Instagram we’ll let the powerful visuals and short quotes speak for themselves.
With Faces of WTC, we are not only celebrating our community but also marking a special milestone: 30 years of WTC Schiphol Airport. A moment to reflect on three decades of growth, connection, innovation, and above all: the people who bring this building to life. This project is an ode to their stories: personal and deeply connecting.
